Graduate Studies

Purpose Statement

The Department of English aims to train thinkers, writers, teachers, editors, journalists and professional writers. A wide range of professional development opportunities are available to our students in various professional environmentsplaces of their choice. This approach reinforces the expertise and experience of students.

Curriculum

Collaboration with other departments and graduate programs is one of the strengths of our university. The English Department offers combined graduate programs other departments, faculty members are joint appointees in English and another of the programs at Murus. Importantly, many courses are cross-listed.

It takes a minimum of 3 or 4 years to complete the Master's degree after successfully completing all requirements and writing a thesis.

​

Students in the Ph.D. program take at least 6  or 7 years to complete their degrees after obtaining the Master's degree.

​

Courses at the Department of English are cross-listed with courses in other departments and with various levels of matriculation.

​

You can complete your degrees through our distance learning programs from anywhere in the world.
